Fort Benning, Georgia is going to be put on the map for metal after this interview! Raising hell with their music, I give you, Dead Reckoning.

Dead Reckoning's beginning was one that I am truly grateful for. Being a military land navigation term, the name truly had meaning for these guys as they were all active duty soldiers in the Army when the band formed. So not only do I salute them for their music, but for their service as well.

Having a vast variety of influences, Dead Reckoning is able to target a wider range of "metalheads" with their music by playing multiple metal genres. That's the good part of every member coming from a wide range of music. It gives us all something we can listen to regardless of what type of metal we like, which I think is something incredible. It's not something you get a lot with other bands, even other music.

These guys are incredible on stage and it doesn't take more than a few seconds to see that. I had asked them what their favorite thing is about being up there on the stage. It's the same as a lot of people but there was an extra little spark in the answer that a lot of people fail to mention.

"Our favorite thing about being on stage is just seeing people have a killer time and throw down! For that 30 minutes to an hour, we get to forget about all the stuff going on in our lives and just have fun!"

Not a lot of people remember to include themselves in that statement and for these guys to make sure they do, I love it.

Dead Reckoning has been all over the place, so I asked what they're favorite venues were in the areas they've been. The Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia is one of them and I can't say I blame them! I haven't been there personally but the place looks absolutely incredible and I can't wait to make my way there some day. They also like The Nail in Pennsylvania and The Haunt in New York. (Which I will also be looking into!)

Lamb of God is definitely a band that they would love to open up for someday because they respect the hell out of them, but honestly, who doesn't! I would love to see them open up for them! Until that happens, we get to look forward to their new full length album, "Rise of the Fallen" coming out this year, hopefully around March as they're predicting. They also have a tour coming up this year so we can all look forward to seeing the dates being posted!

Dead Reckoning really gives some great advice and if you are a musician that is just starting out, or you've been a musician for years, this advice is truly incredible.

"Our advice for new guys in the industry is just do you! Don't listen to the critiques if you like what you are playing get out there and do it bigger and better than everyone else and you will find your place in the music scene! Enjoy playing with others bands it's not a competition with each other its a competition to see how good you are at what you are trying to do!"

I personally can't wait to see what the new album is like and I can't wait to see what they have in store for us this year!

To you, Dead Reckoning. Thank you for everything that you do and what you're going to do in the future! I truly appreciate all of you hard work and dedication. I'd like to keep in touch with you guys and do another interview while you're on tour with Lamb of God! Keep rockin'!
