Jamie Scott LaFave; A Pro Drummer that you need to keep your eyes on!

The drummer with the perfect hair no matter how hard he hits his kit, I give you, Mr. Jamie Scott LaFave! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jamie for the last month or so and he’s since then become a very good friend of mine. With so much talent just waiting to be heard and seen, this man is really busting his ass to make sure he puts something out that we all appreciate. Coming out of Gladstone, Michigan, Jamie has been drumming for 28 years and every day, week, month and year, you can truly see how much heart and soul and especially passion that he has for drumming. Having influences like Vinnie Paul, Mike Mangini, Joey Jordison, Danny Carey, Gene Hoglan, Jason Bittner, and many, many more, you can most definitely not only hear but see the influences come out while Jamie is drumming. I truly believe that influences mold you into becoming the person you want to be. Jamie’s influences definitely made an amazing creation! Working as much as he possibly can, filming, being endorsed, getting even more endorsements and coming up with new material, Jamie has been absolutely killing it in this music scene just in the last couple of months. He’s endorsed by TAMA drums and PAISTE cymbals and he’s also working on his own drumstick endorsement with Immortal Series Drumsticks. Needless to say, he’s a badass! Not only is he a badass but he honestly speaks from the heart when it comes to drumming. During me asking him questions, I had asked a question I pretty much ask everyone because I love the variety of answers that I get. I had asked Jamie, what’s your favorite thing about drumming? His answer was probably one of the best answers I’ve ever read. “My favorite thing about drumming is the creativity, the freedom, it makes me feel so alive! The fact that you can hit shit not get arrested! I love the responsibility of being the timekeeper, the heart and soul of a band. A band is only as good as their drummer. Drumming defines me, it’s how I express myself. It’s my voice. It’s my personality. It’s how I’m recognized. I live for it, I love it!” This was one of the best responses that I think I’ve ever read because nobody that I’ve ever interviewed before has ever put that much of themselves into an answer. Since opening up for Texas Hippie Coalition, Sevendust and Primer 55, I’m sure he will be opening for other insanely popular bands here in the near future, especially with how much talent he has. Jamie is one of the most dependable, creative, reliable, hard working and passionate clients I’ve ever had and I couldn’t ask for more as his manager. Smash Attack Promotions are truly honored to have him and I am going to bust my ass as much as he does to see him move forward.
